ONALASKA SKYHOOKS
Formed in 2021, the Onalaska Skyhooks is a supporting organization founded by Kevin Pugh to conduct programming and generate support for local boys basketball, a nonprofit organization. Due to the lack of programs outside of the school season we found it necessary to find more opportunities to continue to grow in the passion of basketball. With local organizations such as the Royals only rostering 10 spots many more athletes needed opportunities.
Onalaska Skyhooks seek to provide basketball training, instruction, guidance and coaching for young players in a supportive, inclusive environment. We believe in, and never waver from, the unifying aspect of the TEAM part of basketball. Never is it more apparent that people working together accomplish so much more than when basketball, or any team sport, is played the right way. You bring your desire and spirit; we add knowledge and insight. Together we build a community of athletes instead of cutting them from the game they love.

OPPORTUNITY
Basketball provides the opportunity for young athletes to make new friends and develop new skills. We provide the opportunity for new and recurring athletes to the sport of basketball. Research shows that early sport specialization is NOT necessary to produce elite-level performance.
COMPASSION
We believe successful coaching is built on compassion for growth and opportunity not just winning. Player-coach relationships provide positive reinforcement, healthy boundaries of communication, and space for athletes
to grow from their mistakes.
GROWTH
Basketball is extremely beneficial to health, growth and development. Not only is playing basketball a fun way for kids to stay active, it helps them form friendships, learn to work in a team and provide them with an outlet for their energy.
